Presenting...Aya & Triad's Fashion Event!!!

Posted Image

Think you have an eye for fashion, or at least Ragnarok fashion? Come join our event, where you can show off just how cute you are!

Posted ImageINFO & BACKSTORYPosted Image

My friend and I love designing characters. We make up stories, personalities, relationships, and other stuff for each of our characters in Ragnarok (and other games that we have played, though RO is definitely our favourite medium!) and we are always daydreaming new possibilities for new characters and such when we're in RO. We're constantly on skype with each other when we play (and when we aren't) and idle in town a lot, just watching other players. We comment a lot on how cute certain ones are, and compliment other players a lot to each other and have discussions about how some characters look (We're big nerds) But normally don't say anything to anyone, since we are both pretty shy, haha. So this got us thinking. A lot of players are underage, and cannot donate for themselves, or just don't have money or access to paypal, and that we would love to reward them for having a character with style with a donation. That's a way we can help the server we love, and reward a player. So, we decided that we want to host a event of sorts, about fashion and character design, that we judge, and of course, give out prizes!

Posted ImageWHAT THIS EVENT WILL BEPosted Image

Five rounds of themes to dress your character up to! This event will probably take from thirty minutes to an hour, so we wanted to give fair warning that it will be a bit long. Each round will have a theme, then you will be given five minutes to change your character to this theme. We will then judge your character on a scale of 1 to 5 on five different categories. These categories you will be judged on will be as follows:

  • Hair (this includes style, and dye)
  • Clothes (this includes dye, and class)
  • Accessories (this includes headgear, pets, and anything extra)
  • Name (self explanatory - this isn't as important, but it does add to character design)
  • Overall Design Flow (just how well the name/clothes/hair/accessories go together)

The first five rounds will be very simple themes that anyone can fit into easily. The five players with the highest score will move onto the last round, where the score is reset to 0, a sudden death round. The theme for these five players will be a little more complicated to test their style.

You will -NOT- need "rare" headgears to do well in this event. I want to stress this. A new player that joined yesterday with a good eye for fashion could completely win this event.

Posted ImageWHEN THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD Posted Image

Saturday, September 11th @ 12:00 Servertime.

Posted ImageWHERE THIS EVENT WILL BE HELDPosted Image

We will meet everyone in Rachel, and I will warp-portal people participating to our special place we have for the event.

Posted ImageRULES FOR THIS EVENT Posted Image

No Red Bags or Bottled Water. Symbols are okay, since those are normal outfits anyone can obtain by making that class. Gryphons/Wargs/Dragons/Falcons/Pecos are allowed, but they will count towards your 'Accessories' score. The most important rule is, please be nice and courteous. We are doing this to reward players and help the server. We aren't really friends with anyone other then eachother, so there will be no 'favorable' players to us.

Posted ImagePRIZES FOR THIS EVENTPosted Image

Grand Prize

$10 Donation to the Kafra Shop!

We would like you to get a new shiny donation hat for your character with this donation, but we really can't decide whatever the winner buys, of course.

Runner Up Prizes (Two Runners-Up)

Two semi-rare hats (one for each runner up) that I will hunt and create myself, for these winners. I haven't decided which hats to make yet, I will update this when I do.

Consolation Prize

Golden Gear & Sunglasses

(...This is really an inside joke between us)

Posted ImageADDITIONAL INFOPosted Image

I will be watching this topic for people interested in joining, I also have a few megaphones to use when I'm holding the event. If less then ten people show up for this event I will postpone it. I need at least ten people, I would like a lot more! Also, I would appreciate it if a GM could tag-along just to watch over, and help us if anyone is harassing or trying to mess up the event, as I obviously have no GM powers to warp people out of my area. Lastly, in-case people are wondering, I have already discussed this with Everade, and he gives his permission for me to hold this event. Post and tell me what you think, and if you're interested!

I will edit this topic later with the runner-up prizes, and perhaps more images to make it appealing.

Renewal Exp Table

[EXP is now given as explained here (EXP has been increased again, absolute minimum is now 80% nomore 60%)]
[We are now offering Field Manuals in our Vote Shop, so you can level up even faster (300%) by using them]

You only gain full experience of a monster if your level is about the same or up to 25 levels higher than the monster.

If your level is lower than the monster you will get additional experience for killing that monster, however if the monster level is too high (more than 15 levels higher than you) you will get only 90% experience.

Also, if the monster is lower than you you will get less experience.
For best experience points you should hunt monsters that are the same level as you or up to 15 levels higher.

The new @wherelevel command helps you to find the best location and monster to level up as fast as possible.

NOTE: Boss monsters (MVPs and other "mini" Boss monsters like Deviling) always give the same EXP (100%), regardless of the killer's level.
If you're not sure about the level of the monster you're willing to kill, use our Monster Database on the website.
Ratemyserver and other databases are NOT using the latest Renewal database.

For example : You encounter a level 105 Anubis who gives 16,780,000 Base EXP.

Along with your guild, try and get as many castles as possible on WoE 1.0, or WoE 2.0.
When each WoE ends, points will be awarded for each castle your guild gets.

ADDITIONAL POINTS:
Depending on the number of castles your guild has at the end of WoE you will receive additional points! This only applies to castles obtained during that WoE, not the overall total of castles (in other words excluding castles from the previous WoE)
2 castles: +3 extra points
3 castles: +5 extra points
4 castles: +7 extra points
5 castles: +10 extra points

You will have 2 weeks (8 WoEs) to gather as many points as possible.

10 VS 10 Match Information
Once the guild wars point system period is finished the guild leaders will have a chance to put their preference on the best date for the 10 vs 10. They will be asked by a GM of their preference and once an agreed date has been determined across all guilds, the date will be announced. This should occur the day after the end of the point system. The date is MUST FALL within the availability of the event host, for obvious reasons.

There will be a ROUND ROBIN match between the top 4. This means that each guild will have the chance to fight all the other guilds; so each guild will have a total of three fights. This will mean a total of 6 unique fights between the guilds!

What happens if there's a tie?
In the event of a two-way tie, the two guilds in a tie will fight again to determine the winner.
In the event of a three-way tie, the tie will be broken into a two-way tie by having all three guilds fight each other at the same time. The winner will automatically be placed on the two-way tie breaker. To determine the second guild, the remaining two guilds will fight each other and the winner will join the two-way tie breaker.

Example of a three-way tie:
GUILD A, GUILD B and GUILD C, all have 2 points.
GUILD A lost to GUILD B, won against guild C and D
GUILD B lost to GUILD C, won against guild A and D
GUILD C lost to GUILD A, won against guild B and D
As you can see from this example, the tournament is in a deadlock because each guild lost to one of the tie-breakers but won to one.

Fight Schedule:
The following order of fights has been determined based on the rankings:
Fight 1:
Fight 2:
Fight 3:
Fight 4:
Fight 5:
Fight 6:

Make sure you have additional members at your disposal in case a team member can't attend all the matches. You will be forced to fight with less than 10 if you can't find replacements in time.

Fight 1: The Black VH Legion vs Friend4Ever
Fight 2: Fundamentals vs Amalgamation
Fight 3: The Black VH Legion vs Amalgamation
Fight 4: Fundamentals vs Friend4Ever
Fight 5: The Black VH Legion vs Fundamentals
Fight 6: Amalgamation vs Friend4Ever

Make sure you have additional members at your disposal in case a team member can't attend all the matches. You will be forced to fight with less than 10 if you can't find replacements in time.

Guild of the Month Thread and Past Winners

Posted Image

What is this thread for?
Any suggestions regarding any aspect of the event and how it should be run should be suggested here. So people can vote for them. It could get messy in the other thread so I thought it'd be better if we split the suggestions to here. Only suggestions deemed genuine will be considered for voting.

Current Suggestions To Vote For:
  • 0%[+0/-0] No suggestions ATM.

The scores are denoted as [+x/-y].

How To Vote:
Simply put the suggestions number and either a +1 or a -1. Example:
1. +1
2. -1

How will suggestions get accepted?
Once suggestions have been added players will have until the end of this month's event (June 18th) to cast their votes.

For the suggestion to be accepted:
  • at least 10 people must have voted for it
  • the majority of the votes must be +1
  • majority = at least 75% of the votes. For example if 14 people voted +1 and 6 voted -1, the suggestion will be rejected. 14/20 = 70%

ONCE SUGGESTIONS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED IN THIS THREAD THEY MAY NOT NECESSARILY BE IMPLEMENTED IN FUTURE GUILD VS GUILD EVENTS.

Game Master
Are you the one we seek?

We are looking for Support and Event Game Masters.
Please do not apply if you don't meet all of the criteria listed bellow. We require active and mature new GM's only.

Basic Information:
Being a GM is really not for your enjoyment, it's work. You can make your work your enjoyment though.
You will have many restrictions, you will not be able to create any items [no @item], everything will be logged and controlled frequently. There are no possible abusive commands and features.

If you meet our requirements and we think you might fit into the Team, you'll become a Trial-GM, which means that if there's anything wrong
- such as ANY kind of abuse or social issues (flaming, racism, ...) -
we will not hesitate to fire you.

Criterias:
  • You must be able to work as a team with the other GM's and may give us suggestions to improve the gameplay.
  • You must be able to manage things on your own, this means announcing events, holding them with a good time managment etc...
  • No personal issues managed on your GM - if you have any private problems with any people, don't handle this on your GM.
  • Behave mature. Don't let flaming upset you. Stay cool. You will surely face a lot of nasty stuff people will say.
  • You must be very active ingame aswell as on the forums.
  • You must be able to at least read and write english (and preferably an additional language).
  • (You must be at least a "Super Member" on the forums (look below your avatar for your ranking).)
  • You must be able to support players within the whole forums (unless you don't know the language).

Survey:

What makes you special?
Why should we choose you?
Do you have any special skill/s such as scripting, database development or any other ability what could support us?

We will not be accepting anyone who uses translators to write a particular language, as this doesn't help other players.

Just to make things clear.
I've heard now allready multiple times from several players that GatheringRO is going to be closed pretty soon.

I really don't know who's spreading around such informations.
However, it won't be closed in any time soon.
GatheringRO will get a fully new and more powerfull server this summer, that means that a new server contract will be made which will hold for atleast another 2 years.

Valentine's Day Event 2010!

Valentine's Day 2010 Event
Posted ImageHosted by Holly Enix and MelissamoshPosted Image

Okay, lovebirds! It's time for an event that will involve strategic planning and thinking. But, why not plan with the person you love?
Your job is to find someone that could make a good pair with you, whether it may be your best friend, your boyfriend/girlfriend, or just a random person off the prontera street.

And this, is a 2 vs 2 pvp event. Ah but wait, you don't have to have godlike equips to win.
Why, you ask?
Because MVP cards as well as the famous Hopping Filir will not be activated in this event.
You can wear them, but they will not work on that specific PVP Map.
Although, Luxury hat can be used, but mark that it only heals 1/4 of the original amount.
Miniboss cards however, will work.
You enter with a level 250 char.
You're going to have to use your true knowledge of pvp to win this event.
When you've found your partner, start planning and equipping for this.
» Take note that anyone, who is under suspicion of using the 'sprite edit trick', may be asked for a screenshot of that current situation.
» Incase of refusing you may be disqualified and the enemy is the winner.

The event will be held on February 13th, 2010 at 16:30 Servertime. 30 minutes after WoE 1.0.

But perhaps the best thing about this event is the prize. No it's not a symbol, or a rare headgear, or a god MVP, but it IS something gRO has never seen before.
The prize will be a ring that you and your sweetheart can wear, that will transform you into a custom mob. That's right, it's custom!
Posted Image

And the custom mob is so adorable, too~

Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Teehee, happy planning guys!
And happy valentine's day from the gRO team~

» Further Additions
* Outside buffs are not allowed. Before the fight begins, you'll be killed & revived once to ensure.
* Healing Items disabled.
* Luxury hat only heals 1/4 of the whole amount.
* Maya Card effect disabled. (This was my (Holly Enix') mistake. I forgot High Wizard was a MVP card.)
* Scroll Buffs and Food Stats allowed.
* Resurrection not allowed. If once died, you're out.
* Registration closes on February 13th, 2010 at 13.00 Servertime.
