Most of you don't believe that Star Gladiator can be played for serious, so I decided to make a guide about how to use one.
The reasons for me to play SG in a HR server like this one:

  • Just a few SG players;
  • Most of the players don't believe that SG can be troublesome to beat;
  • You can have ALL the skills and EXTRA stats points;
  • Very high Vit DEF and Flee in aligned maps;
  • You can break Emp almost as good as a critical SinX;
  • It's fun!

Star Gladiator

.
.
First of all:
  1. Your build is a reflection of yourself. Try to make your own original build.
  2. All the things that I will list here can be just a base for improvement.
  3. Read the skills info to know what each one of them do.
.
.
.

High Vit DEF and Flee - Aligned map, using Comfort of the Sun and Comfort of the Moon.

Damage against a Goldring.
Low HP, that's why you need a party in WoE.
Goldring = Small, Angel, Holy... wink.gif

Flying Side Kick versus a high VIT Paladin. 911.205 (303.735 *3)

Regarding Star Gladiator unique skills:
[sgus1]
.
  • Know how to use different levels of Warm Wind and High Jump ;
  • Using Flying Side Kick while in Break Fall Stance makes you automatically attack the dodged target. Also grants damage bonus depending on your base level ;
    • Using Flying Side Kick while Running also grants bonus depending on your base level;
    • Flying Side Kick can cancel all the Taekwon , Star Gladiator and Soul Linker based buffs of the target if you hit them.
  • Hatred works with the size of monsters/players. Peco riders are Large size , but the skill works when they are off the pecos too ;
  • Anger of the Sun/Moon/Stars will work all the time, no matter where you are. They are affected by Base Level , DEX and LUK ;
  • You can cast Warm of the Sun/Moon/Stars whenever you want, as long as you are inside the map you previously cast Feeling ;
  • Comfort of the Sun/Moon/Stars and Blessing of the Sun/Moon/Stars will only work inside maps where you casted Feeling and only on certain days:
    • Solar Days are even-numbered days. On these days, Comfort of the Sun and Blessing of the Sun will work;
    • Lunar Days are odd-numbered days. On these days, Comfort of the Moon and Blessing of the Moon will work;
    • Stellar Days are days divisible by 5. On these days, Comfort of the Stars and Blessing of the Stars will work.
  • Sun, Moon and Stars Angel skill do not appear inside the skill list, but it do exist in the server (reset Feeling and Hatred );
    • You must be without full HP and SP;
    • Sit next to another SG and you must see the Happy Break sign on the screen (right side);
    • The skill will trigger only when the Peaceful Rest and Enjoyable Rest are in effect, so you must see the HP and SP restoration numbers (green and blue ones);
    • Before full restoration of HP and/or SP, spam /doridori to activate the Sun, Moon and Stars Angel by a 0,1%;
    • You'll see the message " Angel of the Sun, Moon and Stars: Designated places and monsters have been reset ".
  • Miracle of the Sun, Moon and Stars skill do not appear inside the skill list, but also do exist in the server. This skill can activate any time and anywhere while you are walking, sitting, attacking or receiving damage. (normal chance is 0,04% to any action, but GM Argatlahm will change, I think) ;
    • This skill allows you to use ALL your skills in the map you're in, regardless of day, and even if the map wasn't marked as Place of the Sun/Moon/Stars.
    • All the monsters/players in the map are considered as Stellar Targets (they take more damage if you have mastered Anger of the Stars )
  • You need to be at least Job Level 50 to the skill Demon work;
  • The Knowledge skill works only when you login inside a map where you casted Feeling ;
    • Your Weight Limit increase, but it's not important since you can't login inside PvP/Castles, and you can't use Yggdrasil Berries/Seeds in WoE.
  • The Union skill only works when you are linked .

.
.

Regarding the Kicks:
[tk1]
.
  • Since the max ASPD is 195, using all the stances at the same time makes you very very slow. Use only one at a time;
  • Whirlwind Kick can be very useful when leveling. Turn the stance ON and put Whirlwind on a shortcut, then keep pressing the button while attacking;
  • Against other players, Round Kick and Counter Kick are very useful too;
    • Round Kick push-back effect can be used on WoE, and the Stun effect is almost like the Dancer's Scream skill , no matter the VIT, the player will get stunned for at least 0.5 sec, making they stop attacking you until click on you again (Unless the player is equiped with Orc Hero card) . It is also good because of the 3x3 area effect.

.
.
.
.

Different Types of SG
[dtosg1]
.
PvM ~ Great Melee monster hunter! Using the right Warm Wind and casting Feeling on the right maps, you can:
  • Deal great damage, so you level up quickly;
  • Loot faster than a Hunter;
  • Destroy every single mob without using any weapons and even while you are sitting. ^-~

.
MvP ~ A Sacrifice Paladin will be slack-jawed when it sees you killing a Gloom Under Night and the entire mob in about 3 seconds:
  • Cast Hatred and/or Feeling to deal great damage;
  • With proper cards on a +10 Book[3] you own all the MvPs in seconds.

.
WoE ~ A good combinations of cards and different books, also with the right party and a little luck, you can own even Paladins:
  • Feeling works in WoE, but using Warmth makes all others players receive SP damage and are not pushed back. Good against Casters/Healers;
  • Hatred and the right book with the right cards can make you own even the toughest Paladin. It's basically the SG's EDP; ^-~
  • You can beat those 50k+ healers that support your enemies in just a few seconds;
  • Flying Side Kick and High Jump (using different levels - 1~5) can get you next to the Hunters/Stalkers that tries to lock you with a bow;
  • Fancy to run away if needed, jump over a wall and it's done. Also great to skip a pre-cast and get close to a emp, jump your way through; ^^
  • If the map aligns with Day of the Sun/Moon you will be AWESOME, almost unbeatable if using the right build.;
    • Day of the Stars are not quite good since it only improves you attack speed.
  • If the Miracle Skill trigger, you can have ALL special buffs;
    • Grants 500+ Vit DEF, depending of your build;
    • Grants 120+ Flee, also depending of your build;
    • If Anger of the Stars skill is mastered, you can do at least 6k per hit on regular players, depending of the equipments they use;
    • Grants 15k+ per hit against players that you casted Hatred, also depending of the equipments they use.

.
PvP ~ Good... but not WoE-Good. If you can have FCP + Buffs of all sorts (Mastersmith+Hunter+Priest+Bard and/or Dancer) , it's almost as easy as killing any MvP. Alone you need a lot of books, many sets of shield and armors, garments of all sorts and luck. Not to hard to play, and if you cast Feeling on a PvP room and the map aligns, you will become like a RO god against the players that you casted Hatred if you are using the right equips and have the right build. Also, if Mircale skill trigger, you can basically beat anyone if you are a good RO player. Using Counter Kick is very useful too. And it's always funny to hear "AW! Owned by a SG!" hehehe
.
.

About the possible Builds and Skills
[pbas1]
.
  • All the special buffs that protect you are based on your Base Level , DEX and LUK ;
  • Always max STR , this will decide your damage;
  • Always use Berserk Potions , it will grant some stats points;
  • Using the Demon skill grants you a lot of stats points to spend in something else then AGI. Since we have a Reset NPC, you can use this skill to grant the bonus when playing WoE, and change back when it's done;
  • If you decide to make a SG only for fun, there is no need to use the Demon skill, it will get you Blinded forever (or until you reset the skills) ;
  • NEVER use Union to fight against other players UNLESS you have your own Priest by your side (WoE) or Yggdrasil Berries (Deathbox) ;
  • The Running STR and ATK buff is great only against monsters and if you can't manage to get a book with proper cards. Useless against other players.
.
Test Build
[pbas2tb]
.
The build listed bellow gives good stats without using any equipments and without the Demon skill.
If you want to test a SG, I recommend this build. (You won't need to use anything)
.
STR 198 + 12 (ATK 652 + 0)
DEX 192 + 06 (HIT 452 - +8 ASPD)
AGI 150 + 12 (ASPD 193 - Berserk Potion grants 195 - Flee 416)
LUK 140 + 00 (Critical 43 - Perfect Dodge 15 - ATK +66)
VIT 60 + 00
INT 07 + 00
~~~~~~~~~~Points Left = 0
Important Note about Demon Skill:
.
You can use the points in Demon if you want to become an Emp Breaker, WoE Castle Defender, PvP Melee Player Hunter. Before spending the Stats Points on AGI, get at least Job Level 50 and max the skill, then you can max you ASPD using your AGI points and Berserk Potion too.
That grants you 195 ASPD with Berserk Potion and 126+12 AGI (again, without equips) . With this you grant more 364 Stats Points to use.
You can always reset your skills at the Blackmarket (142 228) if you get bored of being Blind too long.
.
.
About the Equip Set and Cards
[esac1]
.
  • Max your ATK and try to get all the DEF and MDEF that you can;
  • Warm Wind enchants your attack with 7 different elements: Earth , Wind , Water , Fire , Ghost , Shadow and Holy , leaving behind only Poison and Undead , so elemental weapons are completely unnecessary;
  • The set of cards that you need depends of the monster that you want to fight OR the items that your enemies have equipped, so I won't list them all since there is a lot of guides already and I believe that all of you know about this;
  • You have very low HP, but never use a Tao Gunka card unless you know exactly what you are doing;
  • Since we can't equip the Valk Armor and Manteau , we need FCP to survive;
  • Book Of Dead only has 2 slots, but a +10 Book Of Dead with proper cards is my favorite because of the Coma effect;
  • Against Sacrifice Paladins, use a Thanatos card with a Turtle General card, Warm with Holy and pray. If you casted Hatred on them, casted Feeling on the map and have the proper defense against Sacrifice, you won't need to pray. They will get owned in about 6~10 hits. ^^
.
.
My favorite Equips :
[esac2fe]
.
.
Head: Valkyrie Helm (Donation) / Dark Lord Helm with Kiel D-01 card
Mid: Sunglasses with Orc Hero
Low: Gentleman's Pipe
Body: Glittering Jacket (*)
Weapon: Book of the Dead[2]/Book[3] (*)
Shield: Valkyrja's Shield (*)
Garment: Manteau (*)
Shoes: Sleipnir
Accessory: Megingjard
Accessory: Megingjard
.
.
My favorite Cards :
[esac2fc]
.
  1. Head: Kiel D-01 : Reduces all skill's after-cast delay by 30% (Because of Whirlwind, Round and Counter kick)
  2. Head: Orc Hero : VIT +3 and immunity to Stun status (My VIT grants me, but Dancer's Scream is annoying)
  1. Body: Tao Gunka : Max HP +100%, DEF and MDEF -50 (I use against Paladins and Lord Knights, but see bellow too)
  2. Body: Ghostring : Enchant an Armor with the Ghost property (Also against Lord Knights, depending of the weapons they use)
  3. Body: Marc : Immunity to Freeze status (My luck also grants me, but not against Bard's Frost Joke )
  4. Body: Argiope : Enchant an Armor with the Poison property and DEF +1 (When fighting against SinX)
  5. Body: Wooden Golem : Increase HP Recovery by 30%, DEF +1. (When you need HP inside Hellbox) ^^
  6. Body: Gloom Under Night : Increase damage inflicted on Holy Property, Shadow Property, Angel monster, Demon monster by 40%. (Breaking, looting gold, a few MvP's...)
  1. Shield: Alice : Receive 40% less damage from Boss monsters. Receive 40% more damage from normal monsters (Inside GM Castle only)
  2. Shield: Golden Thief Bug : Nullify all magic spells, including supportive skills (Against Casters of all sorts)
  3. Shield: Thara Frog : Reduce damage from Demihuman monsters by 30%
  1. Garment: Deviling : Add 50% more tolerance against Neutral Property Attack. Receive 50% more damage from other Property Attack (Sacrifice and Asura...)
  2. Garment: Giant Whisper : Flee Rate+10. ATK +20 if the user has 80 or more STR points. Max HP +3% if the user has 80 or more VIT points. Critical +3 if the user has 80 or more LUK points (For fun)
  1. Book: Abysmal Knight : Increase damage on Boss monsters by 25% (MvP and GM Castle only)
  2. Book: Hydra : Increase damage on Demihuman monsters by 20% (Part of some sets)
  3. Book: Orc Skeleton : Increase damage on Holy property monsters by 20% (Part of a set to break emp)
  4. Book: Phreeoni : Accuracy +100 (Also part of a set, against high flee)
  5. Book: Incantation Samurai : Ignore normal monster's defense when attacking (In my opinion, best way to be a SG Emp Breaker)
  6. Book: Turtle General : ATK +20%. Add the chance of auto casting level 10 Magnum Break on enemy when doing Physical Attack (Part of most sets)
  7. Book: Thanatos: Deals more damage depending on target's defense. Drain 1 SP from its owner on each attack. DEF -30 Flee Rate -30 (Part of a set)
.
Note 1: I have other sets against SG, but for my protection, I won't post here (kidding) ^^
Also, there are a lot of different sets of cards, those listed above are my favorites. Use your imagination.
Note 2: Use Book of the Dead[2] against other players only, Book[3] against Emperium, and others depending of what you expect to do.
.
.
.
.
About the money to buy equips and cards:
[mtbeac1]
.
Get 2 or more Swordsman Class to provoke and mob the nearest Goldrings at the blackmarket, when they get back at your position, cast Warm Wind~Shadow, cast Feeling, Warmth yourself and type @autoloot 100. Within a couple of hours you can get like 1b for selling Golds with a Merchant class.
.
I'll try to make some different builds, but the one I listed here requires absolutely nothing to wear ^-^'
STR 198 + 12 (ATK 652 + 0)
DEX 192 + 06 (HIT 452 - +8 ASPD)
AGI 150 + 12 (ASPD 193 - Berserk Potion grants 195 - Flee 416)
LUK 140 + 00 (Critical 43 - Perfect Dodge 15 - ATAK +66)
VIT 60 + 00
INT 07 + 00
The equips and cards listed are my favorite ones.
Basicaly, you can get everything that boost your ATK, DEF and MDEF.
For the card set, try to get the ones that boost your damage and your DEF against the thing you want to fight with.
I'll try to put some info about places where you can level up, but... you can own every place ^^
.
Thanks for the tips, this is my first guide^^
Shift the way you move. Shift the way you think.
New thinking. New impossibilities.
The power of dreams. The power of action.
Moving forward. Glancing backward.
This is a very nice guide.
I`ve never thought that someone would like a Star Gladiator.
Now it makes me feel like making one.
:P
Very nice, I must say.
Very nice guide. Damn, I don't have any other word to describe how good your guide is >_<
Btw now you make me remember about seeing a video in Youtube about how a SG can pawn Ifrit easily (*EDIT* here's the link: 7sec ifrit, still I'm clueless about whether it's official or High Rate server but it really amazed me since my Sin X or even Pally can't beat ifrit that easy)
FYI I was envy when I saw your SG who jumped through the wall in WoE while I need to take some walk :P
hehe this is the only class that I know how to use ^^"
I'm trying Paladins, but... I always get owned by other Paladins an SinX ._.''
.
Thanks man! I hope that you enjoy being a SG too ^^
High Jump rox! XD~
But pecos + speed potion + increase agi + sleipnir = FLASH!~~
.
hehehe about the Ifrit = I'ts a official server ^^ the ASPD of Warmth is nerfed, but the damage is not.
But I'm sure that he was injuried already! Only 7 seconds is impossible hehehe
-edit-
I thought it was 2.5k, but it's 20k ^^"
Well, get 2 Abysmall Knight cards and a Vadon card = 18k damage with Union
Tested ^^ and it works ^^
.
Remember that a party is a pre-requisite, since Fighting Chant give us more power ^^
.
Thanks man! ^^
Oh! XD~ Thanks
But MvP is the main function of a SG in low rate servers ^^
Since here bacicaly all classes can MvP, SG is no longer requested in partys
.
WoE is my favorite! *-*
I hope you like to be a SG too ^^
Thanks ^^
Your 'Mei Hua' is really strong by tge way o.O"
.
I need to do some changes ^^"
Since I'm new to the private HR servers, there are some things that helps a lot to improve the damage.
Paladins: Stormy Knight (until freeze), then Warm with Wind element, +10 Book[3] with thanatos+hydra x2 =80~110k with Run+Flying Side Kick (with each one of the kicks - 3x)... with MIracle = 200~250k (again, with each kick)
SG are so understimated. I think 'cause they're not so easy to use.
Better to get a Sac-Pally, isn't it? xD
Wonderful guide. Really, great job.
