Since our GM's are busy, can we hire a more active GM for handling events?

I also notice that they're not so active, but guys each and every one of us has their own real lives.
you'd say to me : "that's why we need new one/s"
I say : if you we're a gm, then suddenly players suggest that they need new ones. that'd hurt right.
and as they are saying, and as I believe, they're doing their best.
a little consideration, maybe that's what they need.
kudos.

I'm considering doing Guild Wars again, starting next month. I also had a pvp event planned too, but I got too busy to even hold it.

Too much Events makes Events Boring

I think employing new GMs would not resolve the issue anyway since most of them don't stay active very long, especially compared to the current GM team.

I know that if I were a gm that was busy with real life duties, I would expect to either be replaced or a new event gm to be brought on board in my absence. I wouldn't be hurt by it, I would expect it because that is what would be fair to the players, regardless of my reason for being busy. Just because people get busy with real life doesn't mean we shouldn't get new event gms to handle it. So it shouldn't be taken as an insult or a slight to any of the current GMs.
And even if most new ones do end up leaving, so what? Does that mean we should just quit looking? At least continually trying to find one that will stick around results in some good because A. There'll still be events while they are around and B. There's a chance to actually find one that will stay. Just giving up and not trying does nothing. That's called quitting. Quitting results in nothing.
And I look forward to seeing your new events Alexaa, hope they liven things up a bit!

Let's face it. The only time the server is lively is during WOE. Other than that, the server is rather boring. I'm not trying to insult anyone here. I am just stating my observation, and I think everyone can agree that most often than not people just sit around althea doing nothing. Most people get bored. My point is that i think this suggestion is meant not as an insult but more so that those GMs can have an extra pair of helping hands. You guys get me? Alexaa just said that she is busy, and that just suggests to me that she needs help. We all can't do things on our own and a GvG is a pretty big thing.
As for the rest of you talking about a flood of GM event boxes, the prizes don't even have to be those. They can be little things like zenny or miths. Useful items like box of stat food or maybe a castle invite or a freaking golden apple. The prizes dont have to be big and the events dont always have to be grand. It is just to stimulate more activity in the server. LOL "too much events make events boring". How do you know? Has it ever happened in this server? Have you ever tried it? I sure as heck would prefer an event twice a day rather than sit in althea all day. Why not give it a shot first before you turn events down? Coz I am pretty sure a lot more people want more events.

Also, as Holly Enix stated recently, our sole job is not JUST to do events. We have other duties as well.
There's also the problem of finding someone who can be trusted as a GM. The last thing we need is a corrupt GM.
However, I'm thinking maybe a GM PURELY for holding events would be a nice idea.

Like Wonwill stated, a GM shouldn't get hurt by any means when people ask for a new GM. Like you have all stated, we all have our personal lives to prioritize, and if that gets to busy where time spent on the game becomes diminished, then as a GM you are not fulfilling your duties to your full extent. (Not in anyway demeaning or devaluing our current GM's) It's just the straight up truth, a GM is someone who is supposed to be active in game, so if real life gets too much for one GM then isn't it only fair that the Gathering RO community gets another GM who could fill in the gaps the busy GM's have left? Understanding either sides isn't the problem here, people just need to realize that it's a GM's job to be active and watch over the server and make sure things are in order, a busy GM is an inactive GM, and what we need is an active GM. It's like having a clock with missing numbers, it only tells you the hours that it has and everything else is a gap. In our case our GM's are on for sometime but can't necessarily "liven up" the server.
Hope my point gets across.

Well the problem that's being addressed here is clearly the lack of activity to keep the server lively.

"Livening up" the server is your guys' job as well. Voting properly, writing decent reviews on RMS, all of that depends on you guys, and helps raise the population quite a bit. That is not purely a GM's job, we need help fro YOU guys as well. An active GM doesn't necessarily mean events every single day. I spend quite a bit of time checking maps for anyone attempting to bot, or exploiting something, and lately, trying to redesign a certain ugly headgear.
I'll close this for now, though it will be taken into consideration. I've got a few ideas to propose now.
