Up until now I've just kind of accepted that certain spells are reflected by Maya card, despite them not being single target spells as the card dictates they must be in order to be reflected. But now I kind of want to know why. Clearly comet, jack frost, and frost misty are not single target spells, but yet they get reflected back anyways. Why is that? What am I missing here?

maya reflects target spells not single target spells comet and jack frost are aoe targetted or screen targetted. since they don't necessarily have to be where the meteor crashes (comet) cause it hits them where ever they are.

The maya card does actually say single target though =\
Don't all AoE's basically work the same? You cast it, if the person is within range, they get hit, if they aren't, then they don't get hit. If you're in the radius of SG then you get hit, just like if you're in the radius of frost misty, you get hit. If you're not in range, you don't get hit. You don't have to be in the center of an SG to be hit by it, you just have to be within it's radius, and comet seems to work the same way too.
I realize saying all that might kind of be pointless, since game mechanics are simply the way they are, just seems very silly to me for AoE's to start being classified differently so that they get reflected by a card that does say single target attack magic. Ya know?

think about meteor storm you can be on places where the meteor doesn't hit and not get hit but still within the aoe radius, unlike comet frosty misty and jack frost they are targeted with in area of effect.

That's true, but isn't it the same for SG and LoV then? Since as long as you're within the area of effect you get hit? And that still doesn't doesn't make them single target like the card says

There are 3 types of offensive magic
Single target = targets 1 single character
Area of Effect = damages all enemies in a set perimeter or field
Area Target = targets all enemies in a set perimeter or field with a single target spell
As long as something targets players, maya will reflect it. Its just that simple.
