Normal Monster Ecl_Tdun Card Drop As Hard As Mvp Card Drop

Question

Yesterday i spent a hour with 2pcs bubble gum to double the drop rate and still didnt get any pieces of card. Is it normal? Or something wrong with the map or monster.?

Please understand that it is a misconception to think that the drop rate increase by double when you used bbgum. It basically re-roll the drop of the item, as if you have killed the monster twice. However, if the first roll gives you the card, the same item will not drop again. I shall give you an example of how it's calculated.

MVP card has a SUCCESS drop rate P(S) of 1% which is equivalent to 0.01 in probability term, hence the FAILURE rate P(F) is 0.99.

Let's say the first roll is a FAILURE follows by a SUCCESS, hence

P(F) * P(S) = 0.99 * 0.01 = 0.0099

Therefore the total SUCCESS drop rate of getting a MVP card, after using bbgum is P(S) + [P(F) * P(S)] = 0.01 + 0.0099 = 0.0199, which is equivalent to 1.99%.

Some might say that 1.99% is nearing to 2%, yes, that's very safe to assume it that way. However, for for an item with a SUCCESS drop rate of 50% (Valhalla's Flower, for an example), using the same concept,

P(S) + [P(F) * P(S)] = 0.5 + (0.5 * 0.5) = 0.75

the result yielded ONLY 75%, which is far less than of the expected 100% SUCCESS drop rate.

The droprate of cards becomes 2% when you use bgum. While 1 hour of farming is often enough to get a card, it's also possible that you will sometimes need longer than that. After all, you have a 98% chance to not get a card for each monster.

If you type @mi "monster name" and the card is listed among its loot, it should drop eventually.

P.S: The map doesn't sound familiar, it may well be that the monsters there don't drop their cards yet. Try @mi and check if it's listed.

Okita seems to be right. I tried @mi Cenere and it tells you that normal Cenere does not drop the card but Solid Cenere does.

Never calculated it through, but yes, it triggers a second "re-roll" of the item drop.
