Gatheringro Patcher Not Launching Game?

Question

Hello,

Earlier today I was playing gRO and logged off.

About 1 hour later I decided to log on to gRO again.

I ran the gRO Patcher, it said "updating client" so I waited until it said "100%" then clicked on "Play".

And nothing happens?! O_o

I did not do anything to change my settings, I did not install/uninstall anything on my computer.

I downloaded the full GatheringRO client, ran it, and it did the same thing.

Please help.

Hello again,

Our virus specialists have been working on this problem and it will be fixed in the next VPS update. The provided file isn't detected by Avast anymore.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me again.

So just update Avast, it's already fixed.

1. Have you changed something since then? Maybe manipulated the client itself or installed a new software?

2. Is the GatheringRO.exe still inside the installation folder?

3. Try deleting the GatheringRO.exe, the patcher will then again Update the Client file itself.

1. No.

2. Yes.

3. Tried that.

--------------------

I found out why it wasn't working.

It somehow got deleted from the exceptions list on my Anti-Virus.

I re-added GatheringRO.exe to the exceptions list.

Ran the patcher and it started working again.

EDIT:

What I want to know now is, how did it get removed from my exceptions list in the first place?

I am 100% certain that I did not change/modify/install/uninstall anything on my computer.

I have no idea.

But please tell me which anti virus software you're using?!

Client Check - 2 false positives (reported yet again as false positive, hoping for an update soon)

Patcher Check - perfect

According to the 2 links you provided, I should NOT have any problems. Lol

Ok i uploaded it now again, and look there, some anti virus softwares are just reporting false negatives again.

I hate this shit.

I will report them now again....

https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/7df9330038f308648a7f83f8aecfff5ff2ec0fa011dbbc6ed6663e107e5c9bc7/analysis/1460987590/

I guess this explains why my GatheringRO didn't launch.

My Anti-Virus definitions got updated during the time I was logged off of gRO and thought gRO was a threat. /pif

These are really just false negatives on very few anti virus softwares.
So if you trust us, you can put the GatheringRO.exe client file on the ignore / white list of your anti virus software (which is avast i guess)

If you're not feeling save, you can also wait until they've reviewed my false positive reports and released an update along with it.

Which is our main goal.

I trust it, I'm just annoyed at my anti-virus. >_<

It was able to remove the GatheringRO from the exclusions list without telling me.

Since I am able to play GatheringRO again, this topic can be closed.

Not sure about Dany though.

AVAST Software just replied that their Virus Lab will analyse the problem, so we can expect an update on it soon.

I guess avast is currently the most critical one, as a lot people seem to use it nowadays.

I will leave this open for now and inform you as soon as the false positive report on avast has been removed.
