Rebalance Adoramus Skill

Question

Quote

I didn't decide to make any skills stronger than the other.
I worked on them seperately and tweaked them accordingly.

My results do not reflect yours by any means and i've been asking for your testing gear set which you still haven't told me.

Which means your data is useless to me. Random numbers don't say much.
Sidenote: Monster damage does not reflect the damage vs players.

This report will be closed.

If you still insist to rebalance these skills, please use our feedback section.

Thank you.

@Everade  Previous Topic: Adoramus Ultra Low Damage

Adoramus is the main offensive skill of Arch Bishops, but on gRO Judex is doing more damage.

I posted my full equipment build on November 10. And you responded by saying it  "Looks fine to me."

The random numbers are not random at all. I posted screenshots with my full equipment build visible

while testing the damage of Adoramus and Judex. Time and date stamps are also visible on the screenshot.

Judex

There is only 1 item set I use for Adoramus, which is visible in the screen shots above.

During all my tests, i've been doing tons of damage as shown here:
image.png.8ba6d0514ec8e679e589be830828c2f3.png

This was before i even started doing any changes.

Problem here is that there's currently a major bug in the Mapflag system.
I've been testing on maps which are interfering with these mapflag bugs, thus resulted in pretty extreme differences.

But in any case, it always helps to give me as much details as possible.
Such as your entire gear set, tested monster (possibly with ID) and so on.

Since all my old tests back then and earlier last week were resulting in tons of damage, i simply thought that you're doing something wrong.
I didn't know what exactly though.

Next to you, no one was really saying anything about it.
That's why i basically scrapped it and worked on everything else.

So this was simply a bad coincidence and i hope it won't happen again.

I also hope that rAthena is soon able to fix the mapflag issues, because it affects tons of skills right now.

If you are using the same items as me, how are you able to get more Adoramus damage?

I tested damage again today, here are my results:

Adoramus - 36,480

I used the equipment which your character was originaly wearing today when you were offline, not the ones from your image.
So there were some differences when compared to your screenshot but they were very similiar... you should know.

I've also had my stats all at max (200).
And i wasn't using any buffs whatsoever.

The problem must be your equipments or stats as already stated in the original topic.
I can not reproduce your damage scenario.

Note:
I did not went deeper into testing after my initial result, because it was the same just like when you originaly posted your bug report.
I've already told you back then that i'm able to achieve much higher damage than what you're showing us.

Please note that i was testing on the live server today.

I doubt the problem is my equipment or stats.

My equipment is literally boosting Adoramus skill, MATK, or Holy Magic.

I am also wearing 4399.png High Wizard which ignores 100% of monster's MDEF.

This means I am doing the absolute maximum damage possible with my current equipment.

And my int is 185+36 (This is visible in first post of this topic).

INT is the main stat that raises MATK or magic damage. So my stats cannot be the problem.

I have also tested naked:

Adoramus: 2,680

Judex: 11,739

Spoiler

Your tests for Adoramus damage with no items is 23,750. My damage was 2680.

Your damage is almost 9 times higher than mine. Shouldn't this prove that there is an issue with Adoramus?

I am showing proof that Adoramus is under powered. Complete with full equipment visible.

Even time/date stamps so it is clear that I have tested recently.

I don't understand how we are getting different results for Adoramus, but have identical Judex damage.

Hello hello

I was wondering about what caused the damage differences, so I ran my tests too

Here's with my own Arch Bishop, using Iron Driver[0] (item #1529)

Gacha064.png.e8f6e07ca57fad014133c0fba045e1ba.png

I also tried to create another new Arch bishop

nakey, and here's the result:

Gacha065.png.ffab011e636a62a20c45f21f1bcb75d4.png

and here are some things about it:

  • both tested today (Jan 02 2019) at c_tower3_ map
  • each AB has 200 Int, 185 Dex, 1 Luk

That's it, hope it helps /gawi

200k damage for an AoE skill doesn't look that low to me.

The skill was single target before the AB skill overhaul.
So we're not going back to the original damage.

Without any constructive feedback, we're going to leave it as it is.

Technically, the skill is still single target, but damages everyone around the target (skill behavior is identical to Comet).

And more proof that it is single target, Adoramus can be reflected using Maya Card (I tested this earlier today).

I think that the damage should be in proportion to what kRO changed it to.

They lowered it to about 2/3's of the original damage. So, I think we should do the same.

Also, I don't think anyone ever complained of Adoramus having high damage.

This is because Adoramus is easily countered by changing armor element to holy element by using:

PietyHoly Armor ScrollHoly Scroll, or wearing Angeling Card. Even just wearing Maya card makes it difficult for Arch Bishops.

And if that wasn't enough, the armors from Ghost Palace give large amounts of resists to holy element.

Yes it's single target, but compared to before it can still hit multiple enemies at once, especially when speaking about PvE.

I can't lower it to about 2/3's of the old damage, because i don't have a testing environment with the old data available.
That means i have no idea how the damage was before the update.

And just because no one complained in public before doesn't mean that the damage wasn't way too high before the update. /sigh

The increased damage is much appreciated.

I first brought up the issue on the 4th of October last year. It wasn't until last week, which is about 3 months later, that the damage was

actually increased to a more reasonable amount. During that period I provided some screenshots where all my equips are visible and I

even showed how much INT my character has. I also tested without any equipment. Despite my efforts to provide clear proof that

Adoramus was severely under-powered, you dismissed all of those tests and claimed there was an issue with my equipment or stats.

So that this is not repeated in the future, what sort of requirements are needed in order to prove that skills are doing too little or too much damage?
